How can they help obligate cannibals not to kill?
My answer is that they carry them over a larger territory and take prey back home. That way instead of killing indiscriminately, they can afford to select the already dying.
It's so nice to go from seeing webcomics where it's just some dude Mary Sue-ing himself as a cool detective with a gun who kills people to a comic with thought and craft behind it.
But who knows, maybe I'm Mary-Sue-ing myself as a big cuddly Troll! Oooooh!

In my experience with iguanas, reptile claws aren't as sharp (few things are as sharp as cat claws!) so when they cling to skin, they keep slipping and needing to fumble for new foothold, effectively abrading skin off.
