No "leader" character would be complete without a villanous speech!
Weg is a politician to the core. He knows that personal pride only gets in the way, and he's glad to see that some of the kids get it too.
It's not a bad plan at all.
He's trying to bring the industrial revolution into a clan the size of a Christmas family reunion. (The comparison is unfair though, Orcs being much more peaceful than the average extended family!) He might just succeed! In any case, it should be interesting to see!
Weg might need to study humans a bit more if he truly wants to understand what makes them so powerful. I think it might also be 'industry' as well as technology??
I really like the rendering of the kids on this page. Drawing children is easier said than done. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to draw Orc children.
It can be even worse than not enough. Change the means of production and you change social organisation. Change that, and you make the previous form of government inadequate. He doesn't know everything it'll take to compete with a modern society, but he doesn't imagine it might involve a revolution.
I've just discovered your comic and must say I love your detailed artwork and textures you've done!
Though I must warn you if you choose to read the archive, the textures appeared gradually over time, the first hundred pages or so don't look a lot like the latest ones!
Im trying to imagine what a big Orcish city would look like. Getting tribes to work on a place where they would live so close together would be the biggest hurdle, I think.
I dont think the humans will have to fear anything like a New Orc City, not for a while yet anyway.
I'm not sure if I' ready to forgive the pun, though.
Ooooo! I have invoked the unforgivable pun!
My work here is done!
It was a honour knowing you sir. *bows*
