I wanted to apologise to some of the great comic artists of Comic Fury: when I created my extra pages, what I threw a few webcomics that came to mind on the spot, with the intention of returning for a more thorough list later. It's been over a year and I haven't done so. I have many edits to make to my extra pages, and I have artist's block, and I procrastinate, and in the meantime, I'm all "Why aren't Draginbeard, Alignment, Lanthim, and many other excellent fantasy comics in my links yet? People should know about them!"
Well you know it, it's because I'm way way behind in completing my extra pages and layouts.
I think most artists on Comic Fury will empathize with you. I too want to do so many things, but there is only a limited amount of time. There are so many kind people on here leaving comments that I feel bad for not chatting more and spreading the word about their comics. As for the block. For me, it was like a log jam on a river. I had to stop for a month and let it clear. I imagine others out there have different ways of dealing with these kind of things too.
Fairy Dust is a great work, Dodom. I know that you have dedicate a lot of your energy towards it. But we all have lives, and that requires much of our effort as well. I find that other artists on ComicFury struggle with the same time/energy rationing for ones comic drawing habit.
I don't think any apologies would be necessary.
I don't expect any artist to feel wronged because I follow their comic and don't link it, but I still aknowledge that they deserve better.
Yup, in the same boat for time.
Had a thought for you, this page made me think how interesting a Fairy Dust inspired cooking show would be. I can envision Orcs, Leprechauns, elves, Fairies all coming on to show off their most prized recipes...but I dont think they should let John in front of the camera, he would just steal the show!
John would do his best to contribute to the show!
Whenever things get too quiet, he'd go encourage other guests to interact:
"That's a great carrot chopping technique! Do that again!"
"When have fairies began to use meat in their steaks?"
"Why did you stab me with a spoon???"
(I imagine the orc quietly using a knife to sharpen a wooden spoon while John is pestering on obliviously instead of using the knife directly, just to be able to say they stabbed him with a spoon.)
No harm no foul, Dodom! In fact, I don't even have a "links" page yet! I'm gonna work on doing that soon. I need to catch up on many comics here. College work has detached me from reading so I'm gonna re-read some of them soon (such as Fairy Dust and Draginbeard)! I feel bad since I used to be very active with comments and such.
I'll be back to the front page and commenting after I catch up!
I think we'll all be delighted to see you come back once you have more time, especially since that means more Alignment!
