Way, way earlier, in the author's notes under a page, I mentionned that Hyht was one of the two Glaesfeld men who could read, but that the second one was in the city at the time. Well that's the guy.
He knows how to behave himself, you don't have to be afraid of him, but if you are, it kinda makes him feel strong.
I just noticed the "L" on Alvise's hat and that could only stand for Luigi! =)
It could also stand for Lesley!!!
I can see him being feared for his size, and the reputation of his race. That sort of thing can instill some confidence.
I can also see the other side of this too. Being feared means you have to keep reassuring people that you wont kill and (with some races) eat them!
Indeed, and that guy learned to live with both.
It still keeps him from being at home in the city, yet the humans' usually more restrained manners is something one gets used to, so when he comes back and people start fighting over the nice things he might have brought back before he even opens his packs, he has reasons to wonder if he belongs among such children too!
